Montessori

Dots follows the Montessori Method of schooling.

The Montessori method was developed by Dr Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and educationist (1870 – 1952). Once established, it has been followed by many schools around the world for over a century, and continues to be relevant because it relates to the innate characteristics of human nature. At the very core of this philosophy lies the belief that if you give the child the freedom to choose, perform and complete tasks by themselves they learn better; and their personalities develop more positively than in the more traditional, regimented method of learning, where young children are instructed and led every step of the way. Children in the Montessori system ‘learn by doing’. By doing tasks themselves, they “feel the happiness that comes from independence”. To quote Dr. Montessori, “never help a child with a task at which she feels she can succeed”.

Day Care

Working parents can rest assured that their Dotsies are happy in a known environment and are using their time effectively even after school hours. Dots offers day care facilities for children 3 years and above from 12:30 to 6-30 pm, Monday to Friday. This way, parents need not fret about making separate arrangements once Montessori hours are done for their children. We accept children who are not enrolled with our Montessori program as well. However, we keep the numbers limited, so each child gets adequate attention.
